Fun Centerpiece!

I was checking out some of my favorite blogs, and I found this! Thanks to Unique Designs, Event Diva's,  and Posh Pastry.

How fun is this, it's a super chic vase with an awesome lamp shade! You could even do a smaller version for a cocktail table!

Lavender Wedding Bouquet

We had a client that wanted something whimsical and beautiful for her bridesmaids bouquets. So we came up with Lavender... so pretty and smelled just lovely!

Lavender is not just for  your underwear drawer anymore!

Photo was taken by me...that's why it sort of stinks.

Fall and Winter Flowers

We can't help ourselves, we love the flowers that are in season right now and thought we should give some tips to you brides. It doesn't matter how much you love a certain flower, you need to make sure it is in season by asking your florist. If your particular flower isn't in season, you may have to pay extra to have it shipped from somewhere across the world or you will just have to change your date...please, don't do that!
Here are some beautiful Fall flowers that come in so many colors and just look beautiful in a bouquet:

Crane Making Fun

A few weeks ago Dan from Unforgettable Events came in and we had a paper crane making party! Dan was using the paper cranes for his bridal show display so we gladly offered to help out with our super paper animal making skills! Check out Intern Melissa and how much really goes in to these little birds!

Ta Da! The finished product!
Check out how beautiful all the different colors look together!

We always love trying new crafts in the office and we had so much fun making them! They turned out great on Dan's display at the Bridal Show!

Betsy's Bloomers: The Blog

Apparently one of our other favorite florists, The Plant Shoppe, also recently started a blog. We love her real wedding flower inspiration and real wedding flower board.

How can you resist that kind of floral inspiration? Love it!

Better than a Bouquet

When it comes to what you carry down the aisle, who says you have to conform to the standard of pretty blooms in a pretty bouquet? Why not mix it up a bit? And with the unlimited realm of creativity reaching weddings today, your options are anything but limited...

Or if you want to carry something other than a bouquet... consider these options: fur muff, parasol, candle, rosary, bible, fan, lantern, clutch.

So what about you, what are you carrying down the aisle?

Good Graffiti

Why does the word "graffiti" have to have a negative connotation to it? Sure, we love the personalization of gobo lights. But, this takes things a step further. We were smitten when we were sent the link to Wonderful Graffiti.

So what is it, you ask? Wonderful Graffiti makes their graffiti of "very thin pieces of matte vinyl that look 'printed' when applied to most smooth surfaces." The design arrives to you on one sheet of transfer paper and all you have to do is tape it up where you want the design to go, burnish it down, and peel the transfer paper away.

According to Wonderful Graffiti only the letters and graphic elements will be left. And the best part? Wonderful Graffiti is designed to be removed quickly without harming underlying surfaces. So, you could even put it up in your reception hall or ceremony location. Doors, walls, tables, floors... you name it!

According to the Wonderful Graffiti website, "it's so easy, even a nervous groom can do it." Love it!

Colin Cowie Launches Design Division

The fabulousness that is Colin Cowie is nothing new and is surely nothing that I have to tell you about. But, the fact that he is launching a whole new department to his ever-spectacular Colin Cowie Lifestyle certainly is. Now, brides have the option of just booking with Colin Cowie Flowers, the new strictly floral and event decor division of his corporation.

By doing so, brides are able to achieve the beauty of a Colin Cowie wedding for a fraction of the price as they handle the management side themselves.

Flowers and decoration are the most artistic elements to any event and bring a party to life. Our floral designers will give you the look you want and work within your budget. Style is not related to money and you don’t need to have an extravagant budget to get a Colin Cowie signature event,” said Colin Cowie of his new floral division.

And he is so right. What bride wouldn't love to have the elegant look and modern appeal of a Colin Cowie-designed wedding? Here is some eye candy of his work....

Nothing is more classic than an all-white setting.

I didn't even know taupe flowers existed!
How beautiful are these!?

...and shades of lavender. Could those roses be more gorgeous?

It is no surprise then that we are incredibly excited about Colin Cowie's expansion. And, I am quite certain it will excite many brides who formerly may not have had Colin Cowie design in their budget!

Not a Flower Child?

A girl who doesn’t like flowers. Does this rare species even exist? If you find yourself fitting into this category, or if you can’t justify spending thousands of dollars of your wedding budget on something that will die in two days, this post is for you!

Don’t these fans look lovely and fit perfectly in with the Spanish feel of the wedding?!

What about a bouquet made of beads??? So simple, yet so beautiful!

How about these fun feather arrangements made by Emplume?

Thanks Maggie for putting together such a fun post!

I love these fun alternatives! What do you think?

Transforming Orange and Blue

Orange and blue are not only the colors of our Title Town National Championships, but also weddings! And when you think of these spirited colors you don't have to envision drunken gator fans…here are some fun ideas to help transform your gator themed wedding from trashy to classy!

Keep it simple! Orange bouquets look fabulous against rich blue bridesmaids dresses! This colorful combo will make for great pictures.

Add pizzazz! Incorporating your colors into your guest favors will add a little pizzazz to an otherwise boring name card table.

Mix it up! Lastly, try adding playful centerpieces like this floral combo: thistle, echinops, sea holly, anemones, hypericum, spray roses, calla lilies, sunflowers, fernshoots, and a few peacock feathers! This will add some color to your reception tables and would look lovely over rich blue or orange table runners. (picture 3)

Thank you Maggie for such a great post on making our school colors shine!!
