We always love a little competition here at MasterPiece, especially when it's a husband and wife doing it for charity!

Photography 35 is in the spirit of giving and have created a fun fall competition for anyone who is interested! They have both chosen their favorite charities and are going against each other to see who can raise the most money! Until October 24th, their normal $150 session fee will be changed to a $25 donation to either the Children's Miracle Network or the Children's Home Society.

We're throwing out our support for both Angel and Gregg, but it's up to you to decide who you want to support! Hurry up and don't miss this exciting opportunity to give back to those in need and have a beautiful family portrait taken!

New Trends in Wedding Catering

Andrew Stratton

Do not you want to make your wedding day as a memorial might be? You will not be happy if people kept commenting about how much food to function, even after a week? Experience moments of joy, you know that the standard chicken and beef will not be enough. So, bringing the latest trends in wedding catering to add uniqueness and grandeur of your wedding menu.

wedding cateringMake It Colorful

It is interesting to see how chefs are finding new ways to add color to the food to fit the couple's signature color. For example, if you think black-white-and function, you can serve Oreos and ice cream mini-sandwiches for dessert, or a root beer float. Like this, there are many options available.

Let The guests Enjoy The Cocktail

Keeping your guests entertained is important to make your wedding successful. Set the eye-catching cocktail and let them play bartender. First select a drink and then ask for wedding catering service providers to set the display of liquor like Chambord, Midori, etc., and fruit juices.

Then, give each guest a bowl filled with lovely fresh peach, white grape, pear purees, etc. You can also serve their distinct signature of each drink for your wedding.

wedding cateringWhat About Culinary Kiosk?

Does the idea of culinary kiosks appeal to you? It should, because there is no better way to facilitate more interaction among the guests. A chef will attend to the guests in every stall and help them to pair the items and make them feel comfortable. Currently, a sense of this season is the ceviche bar that offers a variety of fish. Also, plan a family-style meal like this will help your guests mingle with each other freely.

Go For Healthy Food

Remember that your guests will be interested in healthy food. Gone are the days heavy cream sauce and fried dishes. Add more fresh vegetables to your menu. You also can request a wedding catering service providers to add at least a green courses on the menu. Serve salad made with fresh organic vegetables, or do free-range chicken with organic beans as a main dish. You can go with a green drink, too.

Try the Tasting Menu

Tasting menu big trend now. While going for them, the guests will be presented ranging from five to seven mini-courses. This is filling and you have to go for it. Also, do not forget to give your menu an exotic touch.

Give Special Care For Children

Let the kids have fun at your wedding dinner items such as California roll with soy sauce dips, ravioli brown butter sauce, fresh fruit, etc. This will make parents more relaxed, too. Also set the late-night snack mini cartons such as milk and an array of cookies. Following this trend. Your guests will remember the good in your wedding party of their lifetime.

Designer Dress You Really Can Make It Look Great?

Ralph Laurentia

When I was a young girl, I dreamed of a great designer dress to wear on prom night. As one of the popular women's clothing, dresses are usually used when attending a formal party or casual. When you're high school students, prom dress designer became the most important clothing to complete your special night.

There is no surprise that this elite outfit was very popular since many women believe that wearing a dress like that would make them look much more beautiful than those who do not.

Royal Shopping

However, never a problem for most Hollywood actresses and for those elite mega bucks to spend money on just one dress. This is simply because they believe that the dress is more expensive, more beautiful can be.

No matter how expensive the dress may be, every material and every thread that dress all worth it because of the comfort that brings designer dress.

Saving On Every Purchase

These elite dress can be very expensive, but they also come with affordable price only if you know where and when to go shopping. Every time you see the sales on designer shops, you can visit the store and find a beautiful dress that your budget can afford.

Wedding: Martha and Randy

We have known Martha and Randy for a couple years now and were excited when they asked us to photograph their wedding. In meetings leading up to the wedding they were trying to decide what they were going to take from the cerimony to the reception. In the end they decided on an old 50's Mercury that Randy had pretty much restored from scratch. The vehicle was amazing but not as amazing as Martha, Randy, their families and wedding party. We had a great time and wanted to share some photos from the day.

A PJ Party!

We have so much fun at MasterPiece Weddings. And I mean that! And after a hard week, I decided that even though we had client appointments, we should have a PJ party at the office. Our clients were asked to wear their PJs to their appointments (and they did!) and we worked as usual, but in comfort (and style... well, a style of of own).

So when Stewart from Powers Photography found out we were having a Pajama Party he ran over with a camera....

You are invited to the MasterPiece Weddings Pajama Party!

First, we decided to try to get some work done... don't we look serious!

Wouldn't you like to hire Ninja Wedding Planners? Or maybe that's Kung Fu?

Fierce Right!?!?!

We never miss the opportunity to have a few laughs, so the funny faces started to make their appearance:

Watch out, the MasterPiece girls are wild and crazy pillow fighters!

And then sometimes, PJ Parties take a turn and get a little out of control...

We had so much fun and loved taking a break from real life clothes and getting to work in something comfy.

So, next time we throw a party, we better see you there! Thanks Stewart for taking such awesome pictures!

Paris Wedding Trends Drama

One of the biggest Paris wedding trends that I noticed at the Salon du Mariage at the Carrousel du Louvre last week was Drama. This particular Salon always seems to have a bit of Vegas glamour- and this year’s show was no exception. Besides the bold, dramatic colors that I mentioned the other day, there was also quite a bit of silver- and LOTS of Bling. Diamant Blanc lived up to their name and reputation with several over-the-top, crystal beaded gowns. But Max Chaoul stole the show with his futuristic (huh?) silver ballgown with feather accents (and gloves to match!)

Wedding Formal

Are You Choose Wedding Formal Invitations

By Jerry Leung

Before you consider your wedding invitation style you have to think about the main theme of your wedding. You will need to create an invitation card in accordance with the main theme.

wedding formalAs a matter of fact, there are couples who may choose to have a wedding formal. For this purpose, they would have gone for the wedding formal invitation ideas. Very true that the invitation cards are usually very beautiful and some people even think they are works of art. However, you will need to know how you can create special items for your event.

In fact, wedding invitations originated during the Middle Ages. At that time, the monks will help the royal family to write the card. The monks are very good at calligraphy, and they can help to make invitations with wording that is very beautiful. Printing was not found at this time and this may be the only way to make a wedding invitation!

You can choose white or ivory as the main color theme of your card. This kind of the most traditional color. The envelope is also in similar colors. When it comes to the actual wording wedding formal invitation, you'll go for something traditional. For this purpose, you can try to find the wording on the web. You must be using a template that most traditional of the wording. You are not going to try to create your own things if not, you will lose the meaning to make this invitation card.

wedding formalTo have a wedding formal invitation, you will need to consider the idea of hand-written wording. Of course you're not going to try to find a monk to help you. Instead, you will work with calligraphy and calligraphy can help you to write.

If you do not want to have a handwritten phrase, you can also choose to print. However, you should consider the idea of carving. This is because this is one of the most traditional way of printing wedding formal invitations. As a matter of fact, the wording will be resurrected when they are printed using a method of carving. This will make your cards look pretty and elegant.

Certainly would be interested to have wedding formal invitations for your event. However, you should consider whether it will match your main theme. For example, if you will have an informal beach events, not be a good idea from you to have an official invitation. Instead, you should go for something informal. At the end of the day you should try to find items that best wedding so that you can actually make your big day perfect!

2009 Apple Picking With Friends

When we bought our house back in March they said there was an apple tree on the property and I thought "ok, sounds good" without really thinking anymore about it. What Shane and I failed to realize was that it was the tree that towers above our two level home. Still I was naive.

I invited a few friends over for an "apple picking party" thinking maybe we should form a community basket and then divide the apples between families (of course we wanted to make sure everyone got apples). About 10 baskets later, a large moving box filled to the brim and a tree that looked like we weren't even there, we realized a community basket was probably the least of our concerns.

I had such a great time with the ladies that came, I'm sure this will now be a yearly event. The evening was filled with hot cider, apple bread, games of hide & seek and great friends :) Although this time it was more for moms and kids, I think next year we'll make it a family evening so they guys can get in on the fun too.

Ari being the helper and showing her brother where to place the apples.

Charissa was a star apple picker! She was non-stop and even climbed the ladders to help us pick them (with a little help of course). Her great-grandma used to have apple-picking party's in California when her mom was little, so it must run in the family :)

Future apple pickers :)
