I'm so excited to share this gorgeous wedding photographed by the super talented Tec Petaja. Ali + Ian are the cutest couple and there are so many great details to their day. They were married in Colorado at the Devil’s Thumb Ranch.
The bridesmaid dresses are J Crew’s silk chiffon in Deep Rose and Light Shell. The groomsmen wore the J Crew Aldridge suit in Heather Grey with black ties from Brooks Brothers. Ali's dress by Christos - Julianna, belt from J Crew. Gorgeous hair flowers by Muscari Designs.
I love her bouquet - and her hair - simply stunning!
Pies were from Teacup Bakery out of Denver. Twelve all-organic, all-natural pies. Ten flavors - pumpkin, apple caramel, chocolate cream, banana cream, mixed berry, peach, blueberry peach, blueberry, cherry, and apple.
Love this last photo.
Invites by Parrott Design Studio (photos of invites by Sarah, the designer).
From Sarah, Ian is an artist & drew the horse for the save the dates, which I incorporated into the invitation design by using it on the main return address on the envelope & the hang tag. The invitations featured two swallows in flight. Swallows mate for life & I think they are a perfect motif for wedding invitations. For the RSVPs Ian drew an amazing barn & fence & I added the little swallows to continue the theme. Some of the invitations included an invitation to the rehearsal dinner which featured the always-lovely peony. Ali loves peonies, but they are not in season for her wedding so we decided a peony on paper is the next best thing. The final piece of the suite is the map, also drawn by Ian, featuring various landmarks surrounding the wedding location. I designed the frame around the map, adding a few western touches along with the little heart. The maps were goccoed on to 14 x 14" handkerchiefs, which I then pressed & folded to 5 x 7" so they would fit right behind the invitations.
Ali also writes on the weddingbee blog, so check out all her recaps of the day and planning here. Thanks so much Tec for letting me sharing this beautful wedding today!

Real Wedding: Rebecca + Jason's Saddlerock Wedding
at 10:25 AMThis lovely rustic wedding was sent to me from April and Lindsey of Sweet Monday Photography. It was held this past October at the stunning Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, CA. A bit about the wedding, Rebecca & Jason collected favorite recipes from all of their friends & family and created a cookbook of all those recipes as their gift to their guests. Jason's mom, Debbie, prepped all of the quilt squares (actually, circles) for guests to write on in lieu of a guestbook & she'll be putting them all together to make the quilt after the wedding. Rebecca's sister, Carrie, painted & stenciled all of the chalkboard signs. Rebecca collected all of the milk glass used to decorate the tables. Rebecca & Jason provided the orange napkins & embroidered table runners.
How amazing is this location for a ceremony? Just breathtaking.
Love the pops of orange.
A fun note about their first dance: Rebecca & Jason danced their first dance to “In Your Eyes” and Jason surprised everyone by reenacting the boombox moment from Say Anything. So much fun & laughter at this wedding! Love that! One of my favorite movies :)
Coordinator: Chic Events (Rachel Hollis & Erika Kurtz)
Florist: Karen Murphy
Cake: Cake Monkey
DJ: Red Shoe (Anthony)
Rentals: Town & Country
Be sure to check out the Sweet Monday Blog to see even more from the wedding! Thanks April and Lindsey for sharing this with us and congrats to Rebecca + Jason!

Real Wedding: Heather + Chris's Rustic Fall Wedding
at 7:20 AMToday I have a lovely rustic fall wedding that the super rad Mark Brooke Photographers sent me. The location is truly magical. Heather + Chris were married at Belle Loreve, a tucked away treasure of an estate in the mountains between Santa Paula and Ojai California.
The weather was warm and welcoming for a fall wedding. Their ceremony was held in the upper garden with stunning backdrops of the Ojai mountains. Sonia Hopkins of XOXO Bride implemented and coordinated the day's events. Two open air tents draped in white provided an intimate feel for the large open gardens of the reception. After dinner, the dancing and lounge was a hit, with diamond a shaped dance floor and open bar. More chandeliers than one could count dressed the skyline creating an elegant feeling in a rustic home setting. Lighting and draping was provided by Ambient Event Design in conjunction with the designs of Hearts Bloom.
Love this series with the umbrella!
Ok, how beautiful is this tent in the open field? I would love to attend a wedding like this!
Perfect Cali light...
Chris and Heather sought to give their guests a unique wedding experience. From their pre-ceremony champagne hour to their non-traditional yet refreshing musical selections by Santa Barbara DJ's, they provided an ambiance in which their friends and family will not soon forget.
Thank you so much Candice and Mark for sharing your beautiful photos with us! Huge fan of your work! Check out more from the day on their blog.
